TPI Modifications
Here are some pics of some porting I've done to my TPI pieces. You'll see that I have two plenums. One is from an 87 TPI and is fully ported, while the other is from a 90 TPI setup, and is stock. I've started to sand it down though. The main difference is that the 87 has longer ridges and no vacuum port for the MAP sensor like the 90 unit. The 90 unit has no hump in the middle, and I also believe that it's EGR walls are cast lower than the 87's were. You can also see that I've fully polished the 87 unit along with the runners. You can see where I've siameesed the holes on the plenum and removed the ridges from the runners. Finally, you'll see that I've permamently modified the coolant passage on the IAC housing, eliminating it alltogether. The housing broke when I was taking it off, so I ground the cooling passage off. You cannot see the ugliness when the throttle body is mounted.
