I bought this 1977 L-48 Auto in the spring of 98 for $4,000. I was in a hurry and did not spend enough time looking at the car. I just saw the outside, and the price so I bought it! Two days later I put it on a train because I had to relocate. When I received the car on the other end I realized just what a mistake I had made. It may look good here but I soon found out that it would never pass a local saftey check. It wasn't even safe to drive. |

So I started to strip the car to find out how bad my problem was. I found rust on everything that could have rust. And I also found that there was an attempt to cover it up some years back. For example, the seat belts were welded in place because the anchor nut was missing along with half of the floor. There were only certain locations that I felt comfortable jacking up the car. The car was that Bad! |

If it wasn't for the dozen or so oil leaks the engine would have been the same way I'm sure. It was at this point that I knew that I would have to find a frame or another car. So I started looking around, and then in the paper I found a 79 advertised for $2,500 without the motor or tranny. Only when I arived to look at it, it wasn't a 79 at all it was a 76. This guy didn't even know what year vette he had. Upon further inspection I found a few more goodies. |
