Chapter Four

This is an area where I was needing some help so I got my neighbor to give me a hand. Together we pulled the engine and tranny. After we got it on the stand he gave me a few pointers and I went to work.

I took every thing apart and cleaned it very well. Then I inspected it and found that this engine had been rebuilt not too long ago, there was still cosshatching in the cylinder bores. The valves, guides and springs were also in great shape.

The only thing I found wrong (besides all the oil leaks) was the oil pan was nearly rusted through from the outside.
