Jewels Frit Size: #1 Base Glass: Moretti Periwinkle Technique: Sphere Beads: Make basic round bead in periwinkle. Roll lightly in Frit. Let frit melt in. Allow bead to cool. Heat center of bead (widest part between the mandrel holes) until the bead gets 'runny'. Allow it to flow in one direction by turning the mandrel only in one direction. Round & Square Tabs: Same color scheme using Zoozii Tile Tab Duo. Swirls made using periwinkle stringer. Squeezed beads: Corina's Bead Squeeze press after making a bead using the same technique as the sphere beads. Comments: Fabulous reactions between the periwinkle and frit. Totally rich tones of blues, purple and greens. Some veining reaction occurs with the periwinkle glass. |

Jewels Frit Size: #1 Base Glass: Moretti Light Blue Technique: Make a basic bead. Press softly to a lentil shape using the Zoozii lentil press. Round back up a bit in the flame. Roll in frit. Melt in fully. Twist here and there in the same direction using a light blue stringer. Melt off stringer in the flame and melt down the little dot of glass getting it hot enough to get the reaction and feathering. Reheat entire bead and press again in the lentil press. Flame polish. Comments: Fabulous reactions between the light blue and frit. Totally rich tones of blues, purple and greens. Some veining reaction occurs when heated and worked in the flame. |

of Lime & Pretty in Pink Frit Size: #0 (Lime) and #1 (Pink) Base Glass: Vetrofond White Opaque & Clear Technique: Round Beads: Simple round bead. Roll in lime frit. Heat in well until it spreads and gathers and makes some reaction lines. Lozenge Beads: Prepare Pink stringer. Make a molten blob on the end of a rod of clear. Dunk in pink frit and melt in. Repeat. Pull into ~ 1mm stringer. Make a basic round bead. Rough shape using Corina's lozenge press. Roll in lime frit. Melt in well until veining occurs. Press into lozenge shape. Flame polish. Apply pink stringer in swirl and spiral patterns. Add dots. Melt in enough to eliminate any undercuts but still leave stringer decorations raised. Comments: Twist of Lime does some neat veining things when heated well! |

Paradise Frit Size: #1 Base Glass: Vetrofond Clear Technique: Round Beads: Simple round bead rolled in frit and melted in. Tile beads: Form bead in clear using the Zoozii press. Make it a little bit undersized. Press all sides into the frit, melt in and repress into tile shape. Form swirls and squiggles and dots using white stringer (I use white Lauscha usually, but I might have used Moretti for this, I don't remember for sure). Melt stringer enough to eliminate undercuts but still leave raised. Comments: Work the frit cool. It tends to boil if it gets too hot. Colors become more intense with repeated cooling and flashing back into the flame. |
