I'm an official "Frit Tester" for Glass Diversions, a new company specializing in custom blended frits for the lampwork artist.  The results of my frit torture testing can be found on these webpages!  The frits shown here may be purchased directly from Glass Diversions: http://www.glassdiversions.com/.  If you have any questions about the particular beads shown here, feel free to contact me directly at Beads@JulietPage.com.  For questions regarding frit purchases, please contact Glass Diversions using the contact form on their website.

Frit Name:  Cinnamon & Spice

Frit Size:  #0 (?) not labeled.

Base Glass:  Morretti Coral

Technique:  Make basic round bead in coral.  Roll generously in Frit.  Using a coral thick stringer twist in 4-6places around the bead.  Twist all in the same direction.  Snap off the stringer.  Heat & round up bead.

Comments: Fabulous reactions between the coral and frit.  The more heating, the darker it gets.

Frit Name:  Blueberries & Cream

Frit Size: #1

Base Glass:  Morretti Translucent Blue

Technique:  Make pillow bead using Zoozii press.  Heat and pick up frit on each side.  Melt in frit.  Reshape in the pillow press.  Fire polish.

Comments: This set wasn't heated as much as the one below so there is not nearly as much veining of the darker blue/purple tones.  The cream opaque does show up nicely on the translucent glass.

Frit Name:  Blue Lagoon

Frit Size: #1 (?)not labeled.

Base Glass:  Vetrofond Clear

Technique:  Make round bead. Heat and pick up frit.  Melt in frit with lots of heat to form veining.  Shape in the Zoozii lentil press.  Fire polish.

Comments: The color does tend to bubble some under the intense heat, but the wonderful veining is worth it!

Frit Name:  Cinnamon Spice

Frit Size: #0 (?) not labeled.

Base Glass:  Morretti Amber Translucent

Technique:  Make pillow bead using Zoozii press.  Heat and pick up frit on each side.  Melt in frit.  Using amber stringer twist the glass surface.  Reshape in the pillow press.  Fire polish.

Comments: Awesome coloration on amber.  The light and dark opaque tones create wonderful depth.

Frit Name:  Monet

Frit Size: #0

Base Glass:  Vetrofond White

Technique:  Make Basic Round Bead, Allow to cool core, Heat up surface of glass, roll in frit held in stainless 'sauce boat', smash with Corina's Bead Squeeze.

Comments: This blend handles heat well and creates a wonderful veining on Vetrofond White when heated long enough.  Flashing the bead into the flame after squeezing seems to bring out more of the fuchsia colors.

Frit Name:  Blueberries & Cream

Frit Size: #1

Base Glass:  Vetrofond White

Technique:  Make Basic Round Bead, Allow to cool core, Heat up surface of glass, roll in frit held in stainless 'sauce boat', smash with Corina's Bead Lozenge Stamp.

Comments: This blend handles heat well and creates a wonderful subtle dark blue  veining on Vetrofond White when heated long enough.  The white in the frit doesn't show up on white, so next I'm going to test this on some other base bead colors.
