I'm an official "Frit Tester" for Glass Diversions, a new company specializing in custom blended frits for the lampwork artist. The results of my frit torture testing can be found on these webpages! The frits shown here may be purchased directly from Glass Diversions: http://www.glassdiversions.com/. If you have any questions about the particular beads shown here, feel free to contact me directly at Beads@JulietPage.com. | Frit Name: Safari Frit Size: #0 Base Glass: Moretti Translucent Amber Technique: Make a basic bead, just the right size for the Zoozii pillow press. Roll in frit sprinkled on a marver (so that you don't get too much frit on the bead). Heat up so the core is hot. Let the exterior cool a bit and press into the pillow shape. Flame polish to remove chill marks and tidy up edges and corners. Comments: The opaque white stands out nicely over a translucent base. Seems to take heat well. |

| Frit Name: Safari Frit Size: #0 Base Glass: Moretti Dark Ivory Technique: Follow the pillow shaping directions above. You might want to pick a different base glass than ivory however. Even though these beads aren't particularly pretty I thought it would be instructive to show what some chemical reactions can do. Comments: Very reactive with ivory! Only color which remains true is the opaque white. |

Ribbon Frit Size: #0 Base Glass: Lauscha White Technique: Make a basic round bead. Roll generously in a bowl with frit. Heat till melted. Press using Corina's bead squeeze. Comments: Well behaved pinks. Several shades of pinks and peaches appear on this glass while the vivid fuchsia tones tend to fade somewhat. |

Ribbon Frit Size: #0 Base Glass: Morretti Sky Blue Technique: Make a basic round bead. Roll generously in a bowl with frit. Heat until melted in, and then heat it more and more until the veining starts to appear. Squeeze in Corina's Bead Squeeze. Comments: I do like the dark blue veining which appears on this base glass! The fuchsia colors really stand out well. |
