Welcome everyone!

OK now we got a pic, what ya think? When I got this car I though it was ok, needed lots of work, but its lQQking good now. Let me know what you think. If you have any questions about my project or yours let me know I'll see if I can be of some assistance.

I can give you a history about my car. It is a 69 Corvette Coupe, originally Lemans Blue production was late in May of 1970. The car left the factory probabally as a dealer lot car, because it had only a few options on the car. It was a 350/350 with a 4 speed trasmission, the only other options that were ordered on the car were posi-traction and soft ray tinted glass. How do I know this? The tank sticker was still in place and intact when I removed the tank for the major restoration that was performed. When I purchased the car it was as close to a parts car as you would want to get if you plan on restoring, Now I know this. The condition now I would estimate to be a solid 3 aproaching a 2. I replaces the complete front clip, it had a aftermarket nose, and I wanted to bring it back to mostly original. After purchasing the the new nose, removing the old unit, hours of fitting and grinding and sanding followed. The rest of the car was pretty solid, there was slight damage in the left rear that was repaired. I knew that I would be installing side exhaust, so I installed the solid rear filler panel. I glassed it into place instead of bolting, it looks much cleaner this way. The rest of the car was stripped of many coats of paint, I believe it was painted 4 different colors from original, and they were all on top of the original. I used probally a unorthadoxed method of removing this thick paint but it worked very good. I heated the area with a heat gun and used a razor blade and combination putty knife. After all the paint was stripped, the entire body was sanded and a few coats of sealer went down, this was block sanded, then a few coats of primer went down, also block sanded. The it was time for the paint, I knew I wanted yellow, but which one, well I ended up getting a custom blend, and I call it Brilliant Yellow, and if you ever see it, or when I get the pictures posted you will see why. I would like to thank Corey Kornowski for spraying the paint. This was one of his first complete car paint jobs and it turned out very nicely.

It is April 22 2001, and I first took my car out this weekend from winter storage. I was planning on checking out the weekend at Road America, one of the car clubs rent the track, I was very close to signing up, maybe next year. $300 buck includes two days of track time, and there are about 100 cars split up into 4 groups, with 1 group on the track at a time. Very cool to see. Well anyway, about the only work that that I did over the winter was trying Zaino. I split a order from Ecklers and direct to Zaino, and started the process once I had all the supplies. It is abit time consuming, alittle expensive, but I must say I think it was worth it, I have never seen my car look so good, pictures soon!!!
