I sold my '96 LT4 Collector Edition about a couple of weeks prior to the '04 Corvettes at Carlisle. Knowing that Carlisle typically has a great selection of used Corvettes for sale, I headed up there with funds in hand just in case I found the "right" Corvette. I knew I wanted a C5, and from my research at the time, I also knew that I would be looking at the '98 and '99 model years. We (my friend Rod and I) have our routine for walking the sales corral. We went to our typical starting point and began "the journey". There were a lot of C5s, but all we were finding were either priced too high, or worn-out junkers. Finally on the second-to-last aisle we came across this beautiful Black coupe. It was a 6 speed (only way to go!!) and absolutely loaded, including magnesium rims. I took her for a ride and was hooked!! The asking price was at my max fund allotment, but I made an offer of $1000 less. They fussed until I told them that I had a cashiers check and cash. Having the money in hand always makes the difference. This picture was taken after the purchase and was parked next to Rod's red '98 in the C5 Registy's parking area! I was "Back in the Saddle Again"!!!

My '99 is equipped with the powerful LS1 engine. Coupled with this awesome engine is a 6 speed transmission. It just doesn't get much better than this!!

The interior on my '99 coupe is the upgraded sports seats with black leather. As you can tell from the picture, the seats and carpets are in like-new condition! I have added a few upgrades since I bought her. I wanted a little color, so I installed the steering wheel emblem decal and the passenger airbag letters in red. I also bought the Lloyd's front mats w/ red embroidered logo. The shift boot, e-brake boot, center console and door pulls were also upgraded with new red/black leather. My most recent upgrade was more for performance and driveability. I installed a Hurst Billet Plus short throw shifter and included the black classic shift knob.

Part of the sickness of being a Corvette owner, is that you become a MODaholic!! Within the year since I bought my '99 I have added the following performance modifications:

* LS1 Edit Tuned by MORE Performance (Charlotte, NC)
* Hurst Billet Plus Short Throw Shifter
* Z06 Foglight Screens w/ Cold Air Mods
* Z06 Fuel Rail Covers (gotta be worth 5 HP!! They're genuine GM!)
* R-D Racing's Cross-Bar w/ Camera Mount
* Simpson Red 5-Point Safety Harness
* !CAGS (eliminated 1st to 4th skip shift)
* Column Lock Bypass Installed

Future plans include; Upgraded sway bars, and upgraded brakes. Just gotta find the time....AND MONEY!!!!
