This is a car I bought new in 1995. It has the 6-speed manual transmission, PEG2 (Preferred Equipment Group 2), which includes stuff like power windows, power locks, alarm etc. In addition to PEG2 it also has a power drivers seat, T-tops and leather.  I have done quite a bit of dragracing and autocrossing with this car. I've done some performance modifications to this car, both for straightline acceleration as well as handling. When the car was stock it ran a best quartermile of 14.0 @99mph. To date the best ET is a 12.9 @108.

The blue curve in the dyno graph above shows the power curve after the modifications were completed. The red curve is a completely stock '96 LT1.

I have divided the story of the car into the following parts:

Moroso.JPG (12670 bytes)Engine: This section details the engine modifications. Moroso Airbox, Borla exhaust, Comp Cams 1.6:1 roller rockers, Ported Cylinder heads, 52mm Throttle Body, Airfoil, Hypertech Programmer and a MSD6A ignition.
