After 12 years of ownership, I sold my Corvette in June 2006. This is a webpage about my 1986 Corvette Convertible. Here is some quick history about 1986 corvettes. 1986 was the rebirth of the Corvette Convertible; the convertible had been discontinued since the end of the 1975 Model year. All 86 Corvette Convertible's were Indy Pace Car replicas, and came with a Pace Car interior plaque and Pace Car stickers that owner could apply if desired. The official Indy Pace Cars had a yellow exterior with graphite interior and a black top. All 86 Convertibles came with the more desirable aluminum heads. The Idaho Corvette Page has some more facts and options information about the 86 Corvette. Here is a deciphered list of the RPO codes (Regular Production Options) that are listed under my center console. You can read about the story of how I became a Corvette owner in this link.

From the factory, all 1986 Corvette's came with the Tuned Port Injected L98 350 Small Block Chevrolet V8. The aluminum headed L98 was rated at 235hp and 335lbs of torque. With the low end torque of this motor, a 1986 Corvette could do 0-60 mph in under 6 sec and a 1/4 mile time of low 14's. I had done some Performance Modifications to my Corvette.
