On July 14, 1999, my wife Patti and I took delivery of our Torch Red coupe. The options include 6-speed, sport seats, memory package, dual climate control, cd changer and cassette player, tinted top, rear deck cover and cargo net, twilight sentinel, and floor mats. I recently added a Corsa Indy exhaust system--what an awesome sound! This is my second Corvette. My first Vette was a 1969 Coupe with a 4-speed and 390 HP 427 engine. That was an awesome combination, although it pales in comparison with the C5 Corvette. Yet, I wish I still had the LeMans Blue '69. | |
| The desire to have another Corvette had been smoldering deep inside of me for years, and every time I saw a Vette on the road, the old yearning would rear it's head again. Finally, I decided that I wanted to drive a performance car again and started considering either a Trans-Am or a Corvette. I had been thinking about it for a long time before I announced this to Patti, and her only comment was "GET THE VETTE!!". I love that girl! |

Over the years I have had quite a few performance cars, including a 1968 Road Runner, the 1969 Corvette, 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A 340 Six-Pack, a Pontiac Trans-Am and a few other performance cars. So I guess this type of automobile is in my blood. Since taking delivery of the '99 Vette, we have joined a wonderful Corvette club called Team Corvette, which is in the Flint, Michigan area. Our involvement with this club has led to making many new and terrific friends, and being involved in activities that have increased our enjoyment of this fantastic car. | |
