Why does my license plate read: WCKED GM

Lyrics from the song "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak from "Heart Shaped World", 1989, Reprise Records. Two lines from the lyrics read: "What a wicked game you play to make me feel this way. What a wicked thing to do, to let me dream of you."

The story of the car of "my dreams" ....

Ever since I was 10 years old I’ve wanted a new Corvette. In 1988 at age 29, I purchased a third-hand 1980 white with dark blue interior coupe. Even though I cherished every moment I had with the car, it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. I knew that I would purchase a second Corvette when the time was right. It would be EXACTLY what I wanted, inside and out. In 1997, Chevrolet came out with the fifth generation (or C5) Corvette. On seeing the C5 for the first time, I knew that it was time to save my money. At the same time, I would let Chevrolet get any defects out of the new introduction. On January 16, 2000, I started my search. At first my search began on the Internet and then spread to the local dealerships. To obtain a new Corvette, a dealership must have an “allocation” to place an order with the factory. I had to find such a dealership with an allocation that would “deal” with me on the price. Big dealerships have many allocations but rarely discount the price. Smaller dealerships can usually sell only a few new Corvettes yearly. Hence, they receive fewer allocations. To keep their minimal allocations, they are also more likely to “deal” on the price of the car. On March 18, 2000 I placed a down payment of $500 on a new Corvette. I started the long waiting game. I read as much as I could find about the C5. I had many sleepless nights with visions of the car actually invading my dreams. It’s easy to get excited reading about America’s only true sports car. I was able to track the progress of my car starting August as its production date neared with many more sleepless nights and dreams. When I received the call on August 24, 2000 that my car had arrived, it was like Christmas and Disneyland all at one time. One last sleepless night and the car would be mine. As I drove the car home, the first song played in the car on the CD player was of course “Wicked Game”.

This one was taken within 1 minute of seeing the car for the first time.
"Baby's First Bath"
The car was purchased in Sioux City, IA. at Knoepfler Chevrolet. (~100 miles from home)
For safety reasons, it took me a while to get home driving the back roads and below 55 MPH.
I wanted to break the car in right per manufacturer instructions.
The 350 HP LS1 engine
I'm not sure how the effects with the tail lights occured.
The car is about to be polished with Zaino (the best car polish in the world!).
I've been the official Nebraska distributor since January 2002.
I paid $3,301 under this price.
I trip back "home" to the factory for the car.
....A trip to the museum was also in order
The floor of the garage is now painted.
To keep the car clean on the top and bottom, a lift was installed in July 2001.
Taken in late summer of 2002, this is a rare photo on my old Corvette together with the current Corvette. Both have been cleaned up to near-show car condition.
