I was fortunate enough to spend a day at Shannonville at RaceInc International driving an F3000 car which is a step down from a Formula One car. The day started in the classroom, learning about shifting, braking, weight transfer, etc. This was followed by doing some shifting and braking techniques as well as a slalom course, all done in a Mercedes C240 sedan with 2 students and one instructor. This was followed by a game of "follow the leader". Three students in single file, each in their own Mercedes SLK 320 following the instructor who was driving the slower C240 sedan (and still pulling away!). Then came the Formula Star, followed by the Formula 3000. The highlight of the day was at the end when we went out with one of the pros in his LM 3000 car (2 seater). You think you're going fast in the Formula 3000 but the ride with the pro is insane. This thing pulls 3.5 lateral g! You would not believe anything could accelerate so fast, brake so hard, and corner so hard! All in all, the most fun I've ever had in my life!
