Welcome to Shockwave's Website

Our Y2K Magnetic Red Coupe was Born Feb 9, 2000. The poor thing waited till March 21 for us to pick her up at NCM Museum. Although the wait was a long one, the pleasure of seeing her with my wife's big smile, made it well worth it. We flew to Nashville on March 20, and stayed over night in Bowling Green at Wendell Strode's Bed and Breakfast. Wendell and his wife made us feel quite at home. They are great Corvette enthusiast and very knowledgeable about all the things you can do and see in the area. This B&B is also a museum in itself and was built in 1869. The next morning, at 9:00 am we did our plant tour. It was quite the thing to see the assembly process from start to finish. At the end of the tour, Carolyn got to be part of the birth of a shiny new C5 Roadster. She started it on the first turn of the key and got a Certificate of Appreciation for assisting in its birth.

After the plant tour we headed right for the museum to get started on our delivery. At the front entrance was a sign that welcomed us by our names to the museum. We were teary eyed with happiness upon seeing this joyful greeting. We felt like Royalty as we walked to the main entrance. We then proudly announced our arrival and were greeted by smiles from the museum staff. Adam Boca was there and ready as our guide. He added immensely to the NCM Delivery experience and provided us with a great private tour of the museum. As I was walking anxiously down the aisle, I looked at our own C5 as if it was part of the tour. It wasn't until I walked by it that I realized that beauty was ours. The give away was the pictures hanging on the walls. You see for weeks, I had been watching others pick up their beauties through the web cams. Those pictures became so familiar to me that I recognized them immediately. I then turned around and proudly announced THAT'S our C5!!! Adam just smiled...

We took the scenic route back home to New Jersey. We stopped in Gatlinburg Tn, for what was planned as a one day stop. The area was so beautiful and full of things to do, we ended up making it a three day vacation. Next door to Gatlinburg is the City of Pigeon Forge. We could have easily spent a few more days here but were anxious to get back to our own homestead. Upon leaving Gatlinburg, we decided to take the scenic drive home up through the Smoky Mountains. That C5 sure had plenty of power and really flattened those mountains. Here you see her parked with a beautiful springtime view of the breathtaking Smoky Mountains. When we finally arrived in NJ, we had put on almost 1,400 miles on the odometer. Despite the combination of City and Mountain driving and the occasional fun bursts of acceleration, our new C5 had averaged better then 28.5 mpg. Since I've had the car, I made a few mods like C/R X-Pipe, ProFlo+ Intake and Corsa Indy Pro tip cat back exhausts. If you like, you can see a view of the rear here or here.. We also entered it in a recent car show and took second place looking like this... or this... I have also added a Speed Lingerie Bra and mirror covers in the Mag Red color. To get an idea how well the colors match, look here..

Thank you for dropping by...Hope you enjoyed the view.
