Greetings, This my corvette web sight! Above is my first corvette. I purchased her just after moving to California from Michigan. (BRRRrrr)
Here is my story:
I have owned the car for a little over a year, and she has been my
primary
car.
I bought it from a guy that worked at a GM garage and replaced many
of the
suspension and braking components with "genuine GM"
He traded a Harley for the car and that is as far back as I know.
When I bought it there were a lot of "weekend" projects that needed
to be
done on it. Exactly what I wanted!
The engine is awesome, starts instantly, runs and idles smoothly and
the
drive line is solid, the only one issue is a little play in the end
of the pitman arm.
There is a new power steering valve, new end links, etc.
The brake calipers and master cylinder have been replaced, and it has
Semi metallic pads, they squeak a little but stop REAL good.
It has 8" rims with BFG radial TA's
The clutch has a minor chatter when cold, but still has OK pedal left.
The engine dose not burn oil, has small drip, around the oil sending
unit.
I installed cast aluminum, low profile, valve covers. The headers are
A.I.R
equipped but the A.I.R. has been removed but is in a box
New accel coil, cap, wires.
Exhaust is in good shape, the passengers muffler has a loose baffle,
no
holes, and it dose not sag.
New blower motor, heater core, all controls work. (heat / vent / de-ice)
All new hoses, belts, and water pump, runs cool even when it was 105
last
month
Interior is OK
All gauges except the odometer function properly, the needles have
a bit of
a sun tan, along with the tach redline area
low back bucket seats w/o headrest, Drivers seat bottom is wasted and
needs
new covering and foam. Passengers seat OK.
Carpet has some wear...but not bad
Dash panels are in good shape, no cracks in the top or either lower
pads.
I have new door panels in a box ready to go on.
Center gauge cluster cracked (the top piece like they ALL do)
original shifter and chrome knob
Top is 2 years old, has a 3" cut in the passengers oper side (patched)
A
jerk with a pocket knife 1 month after I got it :(
The rear window needs a cleaning, the guy I got it from parked under
a tree
and it has sap stains on it.
The wipers need attention. I saw them work when I first looked at the
car.
Have not seen work again. Under the hood, the wiper motor is unplugged.
I
have done nothing to them. Rain-x works fine for me. (as much as it
rains in
CA)
New front bumper and drivers side bumperette, the passengers could use
to be
rechromed or replaced.
the fiberglass is good, the passengers headlight bucket area has been
patched and the patch is cracked. Strictly cosmetic and again difficult
to
notice at 10 feet.
