History
of the Yellow Jackets
Yellow Jackets first began on the Corvette Forum sometime before 1999 when Brutus came up with the concept of forming an internet club dedicated to bringing together Corvette owners with our favorite color, Yellow! Mike69, with his graphics wizardry took over the design of the initial logo (shown towards the bottom of this page). Scorp initially set up the website and ran things until Juliet took over sometime around 2001. A logo contest was held on the Corvette Forum in August 2002 to select a new royalty free logo for the club. I'm proud to say that Jim Holmes, of Holmes Motorsports designed the winning logo shown above. In September 2006 she handed over the reigns to Ron Landry.
Since the Yellow Jacket's inception, it has grown to include members covering C2, C3, C4 and C5 generations, all the members own, or owned, Corvettes which are, or at one time were yellow! You will see our signature logo appearing on many of their posts on the CorvetteForum. The members area of this website contains information and photos of their yellow Corvettes.
Yellowjackets is the mascot of Georgia Tech. The Georgia Institute of Technology was founded in 1885. The GT mascot is named "Buzz." The Georgia Tech information, links and embroidered mascott photo were sent to me by Yellow Jackets member Don, who drives a 2000 Corvette. Thanks Don!

Yellow Jackets is also the callsign of one of the Navy EA-6B squadron, VAQ-138 who deploy on the USS John C. Stennis. The squadron logo was designed by the first Commanding Officer who was a Georgia Tech graduate. One of our own Yellow Jackets members, Steve, who drives a 1975 Convertible was a member of this fine squadron. Thanks for the history lesson Steve!

The former logo of the Internet Corvette Yellow Jackets club, designed by Mike69 on the Corvette Forum, was replaced in August, 2002, after a logo contest.
